The SPCG tries to be an active member of the community. Some of our members are also members of the local fire departments and the York County REACT team. In addition to providing Emergency Communications we also support various community events.
- Every summer members of the SPCG support the Shrewsbury Fire Department's Annual Fire parade. We place members along the parade route to assist with closing streets, providing progress reports on the parade, assist spectators who might become injured or ill, and provide general communications for the fire department all along the parade route.
- Members of the SPCG participate with other clubs to provide communications for WalkAmerica and other events in the York County area.
- Members also participate in county-wide drills like the Three Mile Island and Peach Bottom Nuclear Power Plant drills held each year.
