October 1997: Conewego Dam
In October 1997, a group of hearty adventurerers braved a cold, damp day to visit the power generation station at the Conewego Dam on the Susquehanna River. Here's some pictures from the outing;
Our tour guide gives us an overview of the history and operations of the dam.
Carol (N3VCL) and part of the Shive family, Abigail, Steve and Justin, wait for the elevator at the start of the tour.
Steve (KE3TW) ponders the internal plumbing in the dam. "Hmmm...my electricity really comes from these pipes?"

One of the pieces of equipment inside the dam.
Don (N3VQJ), Rich (N3NSN), and Lloyd (K2YJP) - in their hard hats - asking how to boost to power output (probably for that home-brew 2KW transmitter!)

Don (N3VQJ) and Gary (N3YYC) admire the view from the top of the damn.
