The Olden Days

For those of us thet remember ham radio back in the 50's and 60's (or earlier!) here's a few photos to give the newcomers and the younger folks a peek at ham radio way back then.

Field Day 1958 On the left, believe it or not, is a (very) young W6ORZ at his first ARRL Field Day with the Associated Radio Amateurs of Long Beach, California. Note the tower -- we didn't mess around in those days. I don't remember the ham in the middle. The man on the right is Mike (can't remember his call sign). He was the instructor at the General Class Theory class conducted by the ARALB. His son, Spike (K6TQI), taught the 13 wpm code portion.
